
Dr. Rowell’s clinical experience spans a broad range of settings across the United States and the United Kingdom, including three inpatient and outpatient hospital systems, a non-profit organization, and multiple college counseling centers. He brings particular expertise in working with adults, professionals, and graduate students. He commonly supports individuals presenting with depression, anxiety, relationship stress, burnout, grief, and major life transitions. His clinical interests also include cultivating self-compassion, deepening psychological insight, integrating mindfulness-based practices, and fostering gender awareness and education.
Dr. Rowell has presented at local, state, and national levels on peripartum mental health and the transition to parenthood for couples. His therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Self-Psychological frameworks. Central to his work is an emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and present-moment interpersonal dynamics as key mechanisms for strengthening self-efficacy, enhancing well-being, and alleviating distress.
